New Builds and Meta Shifts
While initial projections suggest a meta dominated by Twisters, Bows, and Cast on Critical Strike (CoC), the sheer volume of new customization options makes the long-term meta unpredictable.
- Kalguuran Skills: 21 new skills and 8 support gems crafted from remnants.
- Ascendancy Reworks: Significant updates to Gemling Legionnaire and Chronomancer.
- Unique Item Rune Forging: Unlocked in Act 3, this allows players to upgrade the base type of unique armors (dropped at level 55 or lower) to increase base defenses, making them viable for the end-game. Note: This currently applies only to armor, not weapons.
Resistance Swapping and Ancient Modifiers
- Resistance Fluxes: Three new fluxes can be crafted from remnants to transform an item’s resistance from one element to another (e.g., changing Fire Resistance to Cold Resistance).
- Ancient Map Modifiers: Over 40 new implicit modifiers can now appear on maps outside of the fortress.
Bossing and End-game Activities
- Citadel Bosses: Two new Citadel maps and bosses have been added. They drop keys required to face the new pinnacle boss, the Arbiter of Divinity.
- Simulacrum Update: The encounter is now a 7-wave event (down from 15), providing access to the new Delirium pinnacle boss, Tengmazu.
Skill Gem and Item Nerfs
- Vertex Nerf: The Vertex unique helmet no longer rolls +2–4 to all skill gems; it now rolls +3–5 to level of all Curse skill gems.
- Skill Level Caps: The maximum bonus to skill levels on two-handed martial weapons has been reduced from +7 to +5, with similar reductions for one-handed weapons.
- Recombination Removed: The Recombinator and Omen of Recombination have been disabled and deleted from the game.
Atlas and Waystone Reworks
- Atlas UI: Increased zoom-out capability on the Atlas screen.
- Map Readability: Map modifiers are now categorized by prefix (monster offensive output) and suffix (player or monster defenses).
- Waystone Bonuses: Modifier bonuses now provide multiplicative scaling for monster effectiveness, pack size, rarity, and drop chances.
- Monster Rarity: A new stat affecting the frequency of magic/rare monsters and their modifier counts.
Campaign and Mechanic Adjustments
- Waterways (Act 3): Levers replaced with pressure pads, and the final area is pre-drained for faster navigation.
- Monster Density: Drastically reduced in the latter half of the campaign.
- Bleed Mechanic: Players no longer take increased bleed damage while moving. This change does not apply to monsters.
Totem and Skill Balance
- Ancestral Bond: Placing totems now has no cost and requires no charges, but they reserve 75 Spirit each. The keystone now doubles the totem limit.
- Spell Totem: Can now be cast while moving and features updated animations.
- Shield Wall: No longer capable of “shotgunning” via cry skill interactions.
- Rolling Slam: Attack time reduced from 1.5s to 1s, but base damage has been nerfed.
Corruption and Economy Changes
- Corruption Outcome: The “randomize numeric values” outcome now multiplies current values rather than rolling a completely new random number. This rewards well-rolled items and creates a “sink” for Divine Orbs.
- Omen Removal: The Omen of Corruption has been removed to make “perfect” corrupted items more difficult to obtain.
Quality of Life and Social Features
- Dialogue: Players can now skip NPC dialogue sequences using the Escape key.
- League Start: Trader’s Passage can be accessed without visiting Halani Gates if Resu has already been freed.
- Dodge Roll: A dedicated keybind for dodge rolling is now available in the input options, allowing players to decouple dodging from sprinting.
- World Map: Performance and visual clarity improvements for Acts 1 through 3 world maps.
- Social Tracking: Players can pin “tracking scrolls” (displaying stats like boss kills or currency generated) to their social profiles.
