Event Logistics and Format

The Rapture Gauntlet is a seven-day Path of Exile racing event starting on April 8th. This iteration introduces significant structural changes to the competitive environment:

  • The traditional free ascendancies are removed.
  • Portal use is unlimited for point-bearing Atlas bosses until players reach the Uber bosses.
  • Shopify Rebellion is matching community donations up to $25,000 USD to fund the prize pool.

The Ruin Mechanic and Boss Challenges

A central challenge of this event is the introduction of the Ruin mechanic to major encounters.

  • Ruin Stacks: Act bosses and point-bearing Atlas bosses now inflict stacks of Ruin. If a character reaches seven stacks, they die instantly.
  • Environmental Hazards: Certain monster packs throughout the game are replaced by Ultimatum enemies.
  • Boss Scaling: Because the Ruin mechanic increases the risk of instant death, the raw damage of Uber bosses has been lowered. However, both Uber and Pinnacle bosses are now accompanied by the Trialmaster apparition to maintain difficulty.

Rewards and Participation

Players can earn various in-game and physical rewards through participation and milestone achievements:

  1. Gauntlet Cosmetic: A new cosmetic item that tracks your character’s level can be earned by defeating Hillock.
  2. Campaign Completion: Players who finish the campaign automatically receive one Last of the Druids mystery box.
  3. Raffles: Reaching specific level thresholds enters players into automated raffles for physical prizes and microtransactions (MTX).

Item and Skill Restrictions

To balance the competitive meta, certain items and powers have been completely removed from the drop pool. The following cannot be found under any circumstances:

  • Transfusion
  • Minion Pact

Community Bounties

The community can contribute directly to the event’s stakes through a bounty system:

  • Cash bounties can be placed on specific objectives within the Gauntlet.
  • Interested parties must contact Viyro on Discord to verify if a proposed bounty is viable.
  • Money donated for bounties is matched by Shopify and added to the overall prize pool.
