SSF Spark Totem SHAMAN Day 1 build update
Summary
- Build Status: Successfully progressed to T14–T15 maps on day one in SSF (Solo Self-Found), currently at level 84.
- Current Performance: The build features high damage output but suffers from significant survivability issues (“made out of paper”) and poor elemental resistances.
- Next Objectives: Focus on gaining the third Ascendancy point (Adaption) for defense, increasing maximum mana to ~3K, and improving mana regeneration to prepare for the Mind Over Matter (MOM) keystone.
- Playstyle: A totem-based approach that excels at league mechanics by allowing totems to clear enemies autonomously while the player positions for debuffs.
Gear Overview
The current gear consists primarily of campaign-found items, with some recent upgrades.
- Weapon: A wand with +2 to all spells, percent damage, cast speed, and critical strike chance.
- Off-hand: Font of Power Unique Sceptre, utilized for its percent spirit and mana stats.
- Chest: Includes increased Energy Shield (ES), life, and Spirit, which is necessary to support the Archmage support gem.
- Defensive Status: Resistances are currently poorly capped, even with specialized resist runes (including a -10% Max Res / +20% All Res rune).
Gem Setup & Skills
- Main Skill: Spark linked to Pierce 3, Projectile Acceleration 3, Urgent Totems 3, and Prolonged Duration 2.
- Totem Support: A six-link setup obtained via league mechanics.
- Debuffs/Utility:
- Alleviate Weakness: Heightened Curse, Curse Ground, Efficiency.
- Flamewall: Fortress, Rapid Casting, Efficiency.
- Frost Bomb: Exposure, Rapid Casting, Efficiency.
- Aura/Buffs: Clarity (for mana regeneration) and Archmage (linked with Remnant Potency and Harmonic Remnants).
- Testing: Grim Pillars was tested for totem viability but found to be less enjoyable for clear speed compared to Spark.
Progression & Strategy
- Ascendancy: Currently utilizing the first two points; the third point (Adaption) is the immediate priority for defense.
- Mana Management: The character currently lacks Mind Over Matter (MOM) because the build requires higher mana pools and regeneration to offset the recovery penalty associated with the keystone.
- Mapping: The build handles high-tier maps (T14/T15) by placing totems and applying debuffs. Defensive shortcomings result in occasional deaths, but high-tier maps are being utilized for efficient XP gain.
- League Mechanics: The playstyle is highly effective for Expedition and similar mechanics, as totems handle enemies while the player focuses on looting and positioning.
