PoE2 0.5 - How I Farmed 100 Divines at League Start without Juicing - Aldurs Saga Expedition Farming

Summary

  • Strategy Overview: Farm the reworked Expedition mechanic by prioritizing Grand Expeditions and utilizing specific modifiers to maximize loot drops without needing Atlas passives, juicing, or tablets.
  • Profitability: The strategy generated approximately 100 Divine Orbs within the first 36 hours of the league start.
  • Core Mechanics: Leverage the Mirror of the Fallen Skies unique map to acquire Aldur’s Saga, which applies powerful, high-slot modifiers to future Grand Expeditions.
  • Pathing: Focus on outer-edge maps to maximize logbook consumption and target Grand Expeditions (visually identified by spikes surrounding the map node).

Expedition Rework and Setup

Expedition is no longer tied to the Atlas passive tree and is now integrated with the new Runes of Aldur league mechanic. Consequently, “juicing” is limited to specific Atlas Master nodes.

  • Recommended Node: If available, take the node where Verisium Remnants have a 10% chance to be rolled an additional time, keeping the rarest outcome.
  • Execution:
    1. Progress through the Atlas, targeting powerful bosses to climb tiers.
    2. At the Expedition area, use logbooks to uncover zones.
    3. Complete the questline by defeating the deadly bosses in these zones.
    4. Note: Once the questline is complete, deadly bosses no longer guarantee logbook drops; you will need to purchase them from the trade market.

The Grand Expedition Strategy

Grand Expeditions spawn significantly more Verisium Remnants than standard encounters, allowing for faster completion and higher loot density.

  1. Scouting: Always scout the area first to assess the rewards of the Verisium Remnants.
  2. Efficiency: If the Remnant rewards are poor, place a single explosion to detonate the area and move on to the next map to maintain momentum.
  3. Nodes: Grand Expeditions may contain deterministic nodes (marked by an ‘X’) that buff the map. While these can be powerful, they are optional and not strictly necessary for this strategy.

Utilizing Mirror of the Fallen Skies and Aldur’s Saga

The Mirror of the Fallen Skies is a unique map found through standard Expedition play. It functions as a single, high-slot Verisium encounter.

  • The Reward Choice: When completing this map, choose Aldur’s Saga.
  • Why Aldur’s Saga: This item applies modifiers to your Grand Expeditions that guarantee a minimum number of slots (5, 6, 7, or 8) for every Verisium encounter in that map.
  • Risk: Occasionally, the modifiers may only apply to a single encounter or yield fewer maps than expected, which can feel like a waste of a rare item. However, when it hits, the loot potential is significant—averaging 2+ Divines, with some maps reaching up to 9 Divines.

Loot Expectations and Observations

  • Loot Explosions: Even without juicing, loot explosions occur frequently. Higher slot counts (7–8) result in more waves of monsters and significantly larger loot rewards.
  • Rare Unique Recipe: The rare unique recipe in the Expedition menu is highly effective; it has yielded multiple multi-divine items, including high-value gloves.
  • Cave Encounters: Regular Expedition encounters may spawn a cave leading to a boss that drops Verisium and potential lineage support gems.
  • Market Volatility: Be aware that as the player base learns this strategy, the price of logbooks and the Mirror of the Fallen Skies map may increase. If they become too expensive, pivot to selling the logbooks rather than running them.
