PoE 3.28 - DAY#3,4,5 GAUNTLET SUMMARY + ATLAS MINI GUIDE // POEGUY's RAPTURE GAUNTLET SETUP
Summary
- Character Death Analysis: A breakdown of a level 80 character loss caused by a technical error while attempting to log out.
- Direct Hit EA Ballista Setup: Optimization tips for a non-DOT version of Explosive Arrow, focusing on fortification and direct damage.
- Gear Progression: Methods for obtaining a Quill Rain in SSF and key unique items for the build.
- Safe Leveling Strategy: Using Blight and specific Atlas nodes to reach level 90 safely for event prizes.
Character Death Breakdown
The first character died at level 80 in white maps. Despite reacting in time to press Alt+F4, a misclick focused the Twitch chat window instead of the game client. Consequently, the command closed the chat window rather than Path of Exile, leading to a character loss. The second character, a Duelist, is currently being leveled with a primary goal of reaching level 90 for prize eligibility, with a secondary goal of level 95.
Post-Campaign Build Optimization
This setup for Explosive Arrow Ballista focuses on direct hit damage and direct explosions rather than damage over time (DOT). It utilizes the Point Blank keystone for maximum damage.
- Fortification: Rush the fortification nodes to gain +6 to maximum fortification, reaching 26 stacks. This provides significant damage mitigation.
- Defensive Masteries:
- Take the mastery for 10% reduced damage over time while you have at least 20 fortification.
- Allocate the armor and elemental resistance wheel to reach 76% maximum resistances.
- Use the mastery for 30% reduced damage from critical strikes.
- Gem Swaps: Once you allocate additional arrow nodes on the passive tree, drop Multi-Shot Support and replace it with Combustion Support for significantly higher damage.
- Precise Technique: Ensure your accuracy rating is always higher than your maximum life to maintain the 40% more attack damage bonus.
Gear and Itemization
The build scales heavily with gem levels and attack speed.
- Quill Rain: This is the best-in-slot bow for the setup due to the 100% increased attack speed. Use the mastery that allows projectile speed to apply to bow damage to benefit from the bow’s projectile speed stat.
- Obtaining Quill Rain: Use Ancient Orbs on any unique bow. Because Quill Rain is a common unique, it is very likely to result from this gamble.
- Key Uniques:
- Skirmish (Quiver): Grants an additional totem.
- Willclash (Helmet): Provides Ancestral Bond for an extra totem.
- Daresso’s Defiance (Body Armor): Grants permanent Onslaught.
- Anointing: Use Totemic Zeal on the amulet to improve totem placement speed and provide a 10% attack speed boost for totems.
- Eldritch Implicits: Use Embers and Ichors on rare gear (helmet, body armor, etc.) as soon as they are acquired in maps to add extra power.
Lab and Leveling Strategy
- Third Labyrinth: Complete the third lab in Act 10 before fighting Kitava. At area level 68, the lab does not have the “physical damage as extra chaos” modifier present in higher-level Gauntlet zones, making it much safer.
- Ascendancy Points: Focus on nodes providing attack damage, armor, evasion, and fortification effect.
- Accuracy Management: Prioritize accuracy nodes early to stay ahead of your growing life pool for Precise Technique.
Atlas Strategy for Safe Leveling
To reach level 90 safely and qualify for event rewards (“tombolas”), focus on Blight mechanics rather than bossing. Avoid Voidstone bosses until after reaching the level 90 breakpoint.
- Blighted Maps:
- Anoint maps with Verdant Oils for increased experience gain.
- Use Amber Oils to reduce the cost of towers, making completion easier.
- Recommended setup: One Verdant Oil and two Ambers for ease of play, or two Verdant Oils and one Amber for faster XP.
- Atlas Tree Pathing:
- Rush the Unwavering Vision keystone to receive 20 immediate passive points.
- Allocate the full Blight wheel and rush Cassia’s Pride to make Blight encounters inside maps significantly easier.
- Take nodes that increase the chance for maps to contain a Blight encounter and nodes that grant higher drops of Blighted Maps.
- Safe Mapping: Stay in yellow maps (Tier 9 or Tier 10) to minimize risk while power-leveling through Blight.
