POE 1 Mirage - Atlas Strats Explained Fast - Mass Produce 8 Mod T16 Maps - Path of Exile

Summary

  • Core Goal: Generate massive quantities of high-quantity, 8-modifier, and Originator-influenced Tier 16 maps.
  • Scarab Requirements: Use a combination of Cartography Scarabs of the Multitude, Corruption, and Escalation.
  • Atlas Scaling: Prioritize map modifier effect nodes (Mounting and Multiplying Modifiers) to scale quantity, pack size, and “more map” drops simultaneously.
  • Map Tiers: The strategy scales from standard 8-mod T16 maps to high-end Originator and Nightmare maps.
  • Efficiency: Focus on fast mechanics like Strongboxes and Beyond while avoiding time-consuming content like Expedition or Ultimatum.
  • Profitability: Sell standard maps in bulk and use a “staircase” pricing strategy for high-value Originator and Nightmare maps.

Strategic Overview and Difficulty Tiers

This Atlas strategy is designed for generating high-quantity maps efficiently. It is relatively beginner-friendly and does not require an overpowered character, though profitability scales with character strength. There are three tiers of difficulty for running this farm:

  1. Standard 8-Mod T16 Maps: These maps (e.g., Doom Gambit) typically feature at least 38% pack size and approximately 100% quantity. They are the easiest entry point.
  2. Originator-Influenced (Memory Influence) Maps: These maps often feature a “+35% more maps” modifier. They have higher pack sizes (around 52%) but come with more difficult modifiers than standard maps.
  3. Well-Rolled Originator/Nightmare Maps: These can reach over 105% “more maps” drops. They contain the nastiest modifiers but provide the highest returns.

Scarab Setup

Use the following scarab combination for optimal map generation:

Atlas Tree Configuration

The Atlas Passive Tree focuses on map modifier effect and map sustain.

  • Map Modifier Effect: Take Mounting Modifiers (16% increased effect) and Multiplying Modifiers (15% increased effect). These scale the quantity, pack size, and the “more maps” explicit modifiers on Originator maps, creating a compounding “triple-dip” effect on loot.
  • Map Sustain Nodes: Allocate Shaping the World, Shaping the Skies, and Shaping the Mountains.
  • Speed Mechanics: Invest in Strongboxes and Beyond. These add monster density without significantly increasing the time spent per map.
  • Blocking Content: Block mechanics you find slow or unrewarding (e.g., Expedition, Ritual) to maintain high maps-per-hour efficiency.
  • Mandatory Travel Nodes: Pick up both Map Item Memory Influence Chance nodes at the top of the tree to increase the frequency of Originator (Tier 16.5) map drops.
  • Special Mention: Concealed Logistics is useful for duplicating map drops.

Operational Logistics and Voidstones

To maximize the tier and quality of drops:

  1. Voidstones: You must have four voidstones socketed in your Atlas. This ensures more maps upgrade into Nightmare maps (Tier 17).
  2. Maven Witnessing: If using Destructive Play, ensure you run maps that are not currently witnessed by the Maven. You can use Shaper Guardian maps for this if they are not selling well.
  3. Expected Yield:
    • Standard T16s: Fill a map tab in approximately 12 maps.
    • Low-roll Originator Maps: Fill a tab in approximately 8 maps.
    • High-roll Originator/Nightmare Maps: Fill a tab in 4 to 5 maps.

Trading and Pricing Strategy

Once you have accumulated a large volume of maps, use an efficient pricing model to minimize time spent in the hideout:

  1. Standard T16 Maps: List these in bulk at 10 or 11 Chaos Orbs. They may sell slowly during peak times but move quickly during quieter periods or later in the week.
  2. Guardian/Elderslayer Maps: These hold slightly more value but do not require intensive price checking.
  3. Nightmare and Originator Maps: These are high-value (50c to 100c+). Use a “Staircase” pricing method:
    • List all special maps at 500 Chaos.
    • If they don’t sell, periodically relist them at lower intervals: 400, 300, 250, 200, 150, 120, and 100 Chaos.
    • This allows the market to determine the price with minimal effort on your part.
