Path of Exile 2: Spirit Walker Ascendancy Showcase
Summary
- Spirit Walker Ascendancy: A new Huntress Ascendancy class introduced in the Return of the Ancients expansion (launching May 29th).
- Three Spiritual Aspects: The class is built around the Vivid (Stags/Shock), Primal (Owls/Projectiles), and Wild (Bear/Companions) paths.
- Sacred Unity: A mastery node that enhances all spirit skills with new behaviors and visual effects, utilizing Sacred Wisps.
- Boss Taming: The “Natural Order” passive allows players to use the Tame Beast skill on bosses.
- Featured Builds: Two endgame examples: the “Stormbringer” (Twister/Lightning hybrid) and the “Zookeeper” (Max-companion minion build).
The Three Aspects of Spirit
The Spirit Walker is devoted to three distinct aspects of the Spirit: Vivid, Primal, and Wild.
The Vivid Path (Stags)
- Vivid Stampede: Conjures stampeding stags during attacks to provide extra damage, area coverage, and shocking capabilities.
- The Morrigan’s Guidance: Increases the frequency and damage of stampedes, allowing players to trample enemies.
The Primal Path (Owls)
- Owl Feathers: Provides boons in the form of feathers that can be spent to add extra projectiles to the next skill. This effect applies to both attacks and spells.
- The Mhacha’s Gift: Allows the player to store and unleash multiple feathers simultaneously for heavy barrages.
The Wild Path (Bear)
- Wild Protector: Summons a powerful bear companion that breaks enemy armor, maims targets, and uses intimidating roars.
- Sustain: The Bear features a large health pool and life leech to stay in the fight.
- Companion Synergy: The Bear does not occupy a standard companion slot, allowing players to keep their tamed beasts active alongside it.
- The Catha’s Balance: A skill that grants companions extra damage based on the player’s equipped weapon.
Sacred Empowerment and Utility
Players who master all three aspects can unlock the favor of Sacred Wisps through the Sacred Unity passive node. This node is free and provides unique enhancements:
- Stags: Gain the ability to seek out enemies and change direction mid-stampede.
- Owl Feathers: Empowered skills create a new type of ground effect known as Soaring Ground.
- Bear: Gains the ability to protect nearby allies.
- Visuals: All three skills change appearance to reflect their sacred empowerment.
Specialized Passives
- Idolatry: Provides massive bonuses for minion-focused builds, particularly when using multiple idols.
- Natural Order: Grants the Tame Beast skill the ability to tame bosses, allowing them to fight alongside the player and clear packs of enemies.
Build Showcase: The Stormbringer
The Stormbringer is a high-intensity “Twister” build that combines physical wind damage with lightning elements.
- Core Mechanics: Utilizes Whirling Slash and Barrage to trigger Twisters.
- Primal Bounty: A notable that, combined with Barrage, generates enough Twisters to resemble a full cyclone.
- Mobility & Empowerment: Uses Vivid Stampede to generate a Vivid Wisp every ten meters traveled. Following Soaring Ground (generated via Primal Owl feathers and dodge rolls) allows for faster movement.
- Execution: Expending wisps unleashes Stag spirits that create shocked ground, significantly increasing the damage of the Twisters.
Build Showcase: The Zookeeper
The Zookeeper focuses on maximizing animal companions to automate combat. Companion damage has been buffed across the board to support this playstyle.
- Companion Capacity: This build utilizes Sylvan’s Effigy, a new unique scepter that removes the companion cap.
- The Army:
- One Alpha Wolf (buffs other companions).
- A pack of regular wolves.
- Three different tamed beasts (including the Silverfist).
- One Wild Protector Bear.
- Skeletal Clerics for healing.
- Scaling:
- Uses the Idolatry node in conjunction with the Darkness Enthroned unique belt to equip extra idols.
- Wields a high-damage spear to scale companion damage via The Catha’s Balance.
