Path of Exile 2: New Unique Items - The Auspex and Facebreaker

Summary

  • The Auspex: A new unique item focused on summoning a Mist Raven minion, applying the Gruelling Madness slowing debuff, and providing defensive utility through lucky deflects.
  • Facebreaker: A returning classic from Path of Exile 1, redesigned to allow the use of all mace skills while unarmed, scaling physical damage by tracking defeated bosses.
  • Return of the Ancients: Both items are featured in this upcoming expansion, launching May 29th.

The Auspex: Harnessing Madness

In ancient Azmeri lore, a child marked as an ill omen brought darkness and madness to their village. You can now harness this power by becoming the Auspex.

  • Mist Raven Minion: Summon a singular Mist Raven that ravages and culls enemies.
  • Command Skill: Use a unique command to make the raven dive at targets, creating an “explosion of madness” that shatters reality.
  • Frenzy Charge Generation: Enemies culled by the Mist Raven grant you Frenzy charges.
  • Gruelling Madness: The raven causes nearby enemies to suffer from this slowing debuff, which also empowers the potency of your other slowing effects.
  • Low Life Utility: While you are on low life, your deflect chance becomes lucky, as the Mist Raven instills fear in your attackers.

Facebreaker: The Ultimate Unarmed Smackdown

Inspired by the bloody history between the Azmerites and the Eternal Empire, these legendary gloves allow you to follow the path of the Red Wolf through raw physical power.

  • Unarmed Mace Skills: While your hands are empty, Facebreaker allows you to use all mace skills with your fists.
  • Boss Trophy System: As you progress through the campaign, you collect the teeth of pulverized enemies. A dedicated “mat” tracks the specific bosses you have defeated.
  • Scaling Physical Damage: Each boss tracked on your mat grants additional physical damage to your attacks.
  • Strength Stacking: The gloves provide both offensive and defensive benefits based on your Strength stat, allowing for a high-power “Facebreaker powerhouse” build.
  • Skill Transformation: Traditional abilities like Hammer of the Gods are transformed into unarmed variants, such as “Fist of the Gods.”
