Path of Exile 2: Masters of the Atlas Showcase
Summary
- Masters of the Atlas: A new endgame progression system similar to Ascendancy classes, specifically designed for the Atlas tree.
- Ability Management: Each Master offers 12 unique abilities. Players can have up to four active at any given time and may toggle them freely before starting a map.
- Strategic Customization: Masters provide specialized bonuses, such as boss-killing enhancements, biome manipulation, or increased unique item drop rates, allowing players to tailor their endgame experience.
Overview of the Atlas Masters System
Upon reaching the Atlas, players gain access to “Masters of the Atlas.” This system allows for significant customization of map encounters by providing specialized ability trees that function similarly to Ascendancy classes. Players can manage their Master loadouts via an interface on the left side of the screen, enabling them to swap between different Masters or adjust active abilities before entering any map.
Hilda: The Monster Hunter
Located in the southwest region of the Atlas, Hilda focuses on rewarding players for hunting and defeating powerful foes.
- Progression: After locating her, players must visit a specific map and defeat the boss to unlock rows of abilities.
- Key Abilities:
- Pinnacle Boss Modifications: Grants a chance to obtain additional Unique items when defeating Pinnacle bosses.
- Wisp Redirection: Causes Azmerian wisps to prioritize Unique bosses instead of rare monsters. While this powers up the boss, it significantly increases the quality of rewards.
- Synergy Bonuses: Abilities exist to release Wisps from Unique monsters upon death, add a second Unique boss to maps, and increase the difficulty—and rewards—of bosses modified by other mechanics.
Doryani: The Scientist of the Atlas
Located to the southeast of the starting location, Doryani specializes in structural manipulation and traversal of the Atlas.
- Terraforming: After each map, players can terraform the Atlas by changing a specific biome to another, allowing for better synergy with the regular Atlas tree points that target specific content.
- Traversal and Citadels: Through “Waygate” specialization, players can unlock precursor laylines after running maps, facilitating faster travel across the Atlas, which is particularly useful when hunting for Citadels.
- Strongbox Construction: This ability adds an option to destroy strongboxes, turning them into rare constructs. Each modifier on the original strongbox becomes a mod on the construct, allowing players to craft powerful monsters.
- Utility: Provides supplementary bonuses, such as an extra Revive per map or the ability to make maps “Irradiated” to increase their level.
Jado: Member of the Order of the Djinn
Jado is found to the north of the starting location after opening an Ancient Vaal Vault. His focus is on the collection of artifacts and unique items.
- Spycraft: Once unlocked, Jado provides expertise in protecting and discovering unique relics.
- Unique Item Focus: His abilities significantly boost the discovery of unique items, unique strongboxes, and unique content like anomaly maps.
- Reliquary Keys: A notable ability introduces a unique strongbox that grants Reliquary Keys, providing a pathway to acquire even more unique items.
