My League Start Plans for 0.5.0 - Path of Exile 2

Summary

  • Initial Strategy: Complete the campaign (estimated 4–5 hours), then immediately prioritize rushing main Atlas points.
  • Primary League Mechanic: Focusing on Abyss for day one due to strong crafting potential, high rare monster density, and solid raw currency/gear drops.
  • Secondary Considerations: Evaluating Breach (for ring/amulet crafting) as a potential day two strategy, while holding off on Ritual, Expedition, and Temple due to setup requirements or lower early-league value.
  • General Philosophy: Avoid switching between multiple league mechanics to maximize Atlas tree synergy and minimize downtime in the hideout.

Campaign and Atlas Progression

  • Campaign: The goal is to finish the campaign in 4–5 hours, accounting for potential server instability during launch.
  • Atlas Rush: Immediately prioritize acquiring all main Atlas points. Rushing these is considered the optimal move for securing long-term currency, gear, and progression.
  • Efficiency: Because Atlas passive nodes provide benefits across all content, obtaining the full tree is the highest priority before engaging deeply in specific farming strategies.

League Mechanic Strategy

  • Abyss (Primary Focus): Selected for day one. It is highly lucrative early because rare items are in high demand when player gear is poor. The mechanic provides a consistent supply of rare monsters and crafting materials.
  • Breach: Identified as a high-potential secondary mechanic. It allows for “printing” rare rings and amulets, which are often the most expensive gear slots. It will likely be tested on day two, though it may have lower monster density than Abyss.
  • Ritual: Considered a wildcard. While it offers guaranteed uniques, their value and frequency are unpredictable, and specialized items like Ritual Omens are not typically valuable in the first few days.
  • Expedition: Currently excluded from the plan due to personal preference and a lack of interest in the mechanic, unless loot scaling proves significantly superior to alternatives.
  • Temple: Likely a solid endgame strategy, but it requires hours of setup time. It is not considered viable for day one because the focus must be on immediate returns.
  • Delirium: Viewed as a high-end scaling mechanic rather than a day one strategy. High-percentage Delirium (up to 200%) is expected to be extremely challenging, but may become valuable later for chase items like Voices or Megalomaniacs.

Day One Execution and Profit

  • Trading Strategy: To maximize early currency, use public stash tabs to list any decent rare gear drops immediately. Prices for early-game gear should be set aggressively (e.g., 1–5 chaos orbs) to ensure high volume.
  • Hideout Efficiency: Minimize time spent in the hideout. The goal is to maintain momentum to ensure consistent progress and wealth generation.
  • Scaling: The strategy assumes aiming for 100% item rarity as quickly as possible on day one to capitalize on the gear drops generated by the chosen league mechanics.
