My Day 1 Build Update | Ice Shot Deadeye - Path of Exile 2

Summary

  • Performance: The Ice Shot Deadeye build is highly effective, allowing for one-shot kills on campaign and map bosses once equipped with a high-tier bow.
  • Currency & Gear: Day one concluded with approximately 53 Divines in the stash and an additional high-value Physical Critical Strike bow.
  • Headhunter Status: Note that Headhunter appears significantly rarer this patch, with its market price exceeding 100 Divines.
  • Build Adjustments: Key updates include utilizing the “Sharkfin” crest in Act 4 (choosing the Evasion/Energy Shield option) and incorporating “Orlof’s Conviction” support gem for additional power skill charges.
  • Atlas Strategy: The player currently favors Abyss for currency farming but emphasizes that Atlas specialization is temporary, as all nodes are eventually unlocked through quest progression.

Gear and Character Progress

The current gear setup focuses on a mix of survival and damage, though several pieces are slated for replacement as the build progresses. Notable equipment includes:

  • Defensive Layers: Evasion-based chest armor, Tri-Resist boots with movement speed, and standard resist/life jewelry.
  • Build Optimization: The player is currently running a non-critical strike tree but plans to transition to a full critical strike and hybrid-step version soon.
  • Current Charms: Utilizing Thorn, Silver, and Dowsing charms for enhanced performance.

Build Modifications

The build remains largely consistent with the official Mobalytics guide, with two specific exceptions:

  1. Crest Word (Act 4): The Sharkfin crest has been added. The Evasion/Energy Shield variant was chosen over the Flexure Raid option for better synergy.
  2. Support Gem: The Orlof’s Conviction support gem is now in use. It provides two additional uses on power skills, enabling three attacks when using Barrage, which significantly improves clearing efficiency for skills like Frenzy.

Atlas Strategy

The Atlas Tree is not currently optimized, as the player notes that all nodes are eventually unlocked through the central questline and boss kills.

  • Early Game: Initial focus was on Essence, Shrines, and Strongboxes.
  • Current Focus: The player is prioritizing Abyss, citing it as the most effective mechanic for raw currency generation.
  • Recommendation: Do not feel pressured to copy specific early-game Atlas trees, as the progression system ensures players can eventually access all content regardless of initial choices.

Progression Milestones

  • The character has successfully defeated all new pinnacle bosses and the two associated side bosses.
  • Content such as Ritual and Expedition has been bypassed in favor of focusing on Abyss and general map progression.
