PoE Sanity

Hey GGG you missed a spot

Summary

  • Ancestral Bond Archmage: A powerful interaction in Path of Exile 2 allows totems to benefit from Archmage’s damage scaling while avoiding its high mana cost.
  • Companion Damage Recoup: Combining specific items and passives creates an infinite recovery loop by shifting damage to companions and utilizing high-percentage damage recoup.
  • Blood Mage Flask Bug: A bug involving Sanguine Tides and life flask usage allows for massive, unintended life recovery, enabling high-frequency skill spam.
  • Twisters: Projected to be the dominant skill of the upcoming patch due to extreme boss-clearing efficiency, with widespread adoption across the community and guide creators.

Ancestral Bond Archmage

Ancestral Bond, which originally required power charges for totem placement in earlier iterations, has been adjusted to function without cost. In Path of Exile 2, the Archmage support gem provides a massive lightning damage bonus based on maximum mana but carries a high mana cost. Because Ancestral Bond makes totem skills free, players can utilize the Archmage damage multiplier without sustaining the mana cost, effectively bypassing the intended downside of the skill. Coupled with reduced internal cooldowns in version 0.5, this combination creates a high-damage, low-downside setup.

Companion Damage Recoup

The Spirit Walker ascendancy allows players to redirect a portion of incoming damage to their companions. By stacking specific sources of recoup—including the Romira’s Recouple lineage gem, bear companion passives, Captivating Companionship on the passive tree, and corrupted Starconjas—players can shift roughly 44% of incoming damage to their companions. Because the damage shifted to companions is recouped at an extremely high rate (effectively 200% on the gem, plus other multipliers), the player gains back significantly more life than the damage taken, resulting in an infinite recovery loop.

Blood Mage Flask Bug

Despite nerfs to life leech in version 0.5, certain builds are still achieving massive recovery through a bug related to Sanguine Tides. This item currently provides more life charges to flasks than intended. On Chinese servers, players are using macros to spam life flasks, allowing them to spend vast amounts of life to trigger high-frequency skill effects (such as “commets”) with virtually infinite recovery. Even without macros, manual flask usage provides enough life-per-second recovery to sustain high-intensity playstyles.

Twisters

Twisters is identified as the upcoming “meta” skill, expected to comprise 30% to 40% of the player base on PoE Ninja in version 0.5. The skill demonstrates overwhelming power, with reports of players clearing Tier 15 maps at speeds usually reserved for campaign speedruns. Its prevalence is evidenced by numerous high-profile build guides already available, and it is reportedly effective even for Witch league starters using suboptimal, minimalist passive trees.
