Diablo 4 Poison Evade Spiritborn Leveling & Endgame Build Guide

Summary

  • The “God” Build: High-speed gameplay with infinite resources, movement faster than mounts, and damage output reaching trillions (record of 9.1 trillion).
  • Leveling Strategy: Uses Rock Splitter and the Gorilla Spirit Hall for a Thorns-based approach that trivializes early difficulties like Penitent.
  • Infinite Evade Mechanic: Utilizes Rushing Claw (which counts as an Evade) and maintains a minimum of four Ferocity stacks to reset charges instantly.
  • Key Damage Scaling: Focuses on Pestilence Swarms, Poison Damage Over Time, and stacking Resolve to scale damage via the Colossal glyph.
  • Critical Bug Fix: Addresses a common issue where the Eagle spirit tag fails to register, potentially breaking the infinite evade loop if Ravager drops below level 20.

Gameplay Overview

This build transforms the Spiritborn into a top-tier speed farmer and Pit pusher. By leveraging Rushing Claw as an infinite Evade, you move across the screen faster than a mount while trailing “poison-nados” (Pestilence Swarms).

  • Damage Type: Poison Damage Over Time (DoT) that can be detonated with Critical Strikes.
  • Resource Management: Completely resource-independent; Spirit remains capped at all times.
  • Performance: Capable of clearing Torment 12 Pit and vaporizing T10 Uber Mephisto in seconds.

Leveling Build: The Rock Splitter Method

While many attempt Evade leveling early, it is ineffective until higher levels. The most efficient 1–70 leveling method utilizes Rock Splitter.

  1. Skill Synergy: Rock Splitter increases Thorns and deals Thorns damage to enemies around you.
  2. Spirit Hall (Gorilla): Attacks with Gorilla skills deal 150% of your Thorns to enemies hit. This provides massive damage and near-invincibility for free.
  3. Progression: Switch to Penitent difficulty as soon as this combo is online.
  4. Utility Skills:
    • Soar: For mobility.
    • Armored Hide: For survivability.
    • The Hunter (Ultimate): Use on bosses for burst damage.

Endgame Mechanics and Spirit Hall

The endgame build transitions into the Poison Evade setup.

  • Spirit Hall Configuration:
    • Primary: Gorilla (Makes every skill a Gorilla skill).
    • Secondary: Eagle (Via the Unique Helmet Loyalty’s Mantle). This adds the Eagle tag to all skills.
  • Stat Priority:
    • Cooldown Reduction (CDR) is vital.
    • Damage Over Time and Vulnerable multipliers.
    • Note on Critical Strike: Do not stack Critical Strike Chance or Damage. You only need a single crit to detonate the poison burst from your amulet’s unique power.

Gear and Stat Synergies

  • Ring of the Writhing Moon: Automatically spawns Pestilence Swarms that orbit you and reduce Eagle skill cooldowns on hit.
  • Temerity: Provides consistent shielding for defense.
  • Resolve Stacks: Temper Resolve wherever possible. Each stack provides 25% increased Armor and, more importantly, a 2% multiplicative damage increase via the Colossal Glyph.
  • Protian Heart: A powerful item that doubles core stats when swapping bonuses, providing an enormous damage and utility boost.

Infinite Evade and the “Ravager Bug”

The core of the build is infinite charges of Rushing Claw.

  1. The Loop: Rushing Claw refills two charges if you consume four stacks of Ferocity.
  2. The Requirement: You must have Ravager at Level 20. At this level, your “Minimum Ferocity” is increased by four, meaning you can never drop below the threshold required to reset Rushing Claw.
  3. The Bug: A bug with the Loyalty’s Mantle (Eagle hat) sometimes causes the game to stop recognizing the Eagle/secondary spirit tags. If your Ravager level depends on +Eagle Skill charms, it may drop to 17 or 18, breaking the infinite loop.
  4. The Solution:
    • Use Gorilla Skill affixes on Talismans/Charms instead of Eagle.
    • Over-cap Ravager to Level 22 or higher so that even if the bug occurs, the level stays at or above 20.

Skill Tree and Runewords

  • Active Skills:
    • Rushing Claw: Your primary movement and “Evade” skill.
    • Counterattack: Used to generate additional Pestilence Swarms.
    • Vortex: Brought in via Runewords for crowd control.
  • Runewords:
    • Sem + Que: Provides a consistent Barrier.
    • Cry + Vortex: Procs the Spiritborn’s Vortex. When combined with skill tree upgrades, this provides 20% Damage Reduction (DR) and pulls enemies into your poison clouds.

Paragon Board

The Paragon setup focuses on maximizing Resolve and Main Stat.

  • Colossal Glyph: Mandatory for converting Resolve stacks into a massive multiplicative damage bonus.
  • Followers: Choose followers that provide utility or supplemental DR; the build already possesses excessive damage.
