CRAZY Life Flask TECH Possible with Reverie? | Path of Exile: Return of the Ancients 0.5

Summary

  • Reverie Unique Body Armor: Analysis of the rebranded Husk of Dreams and its “non-unique life flasks apply their effects constantly” mechanic.
  • Unique Item Synergies: Potential interactions with belts like Umbilicus Immortalis, Nashin Sash, Shavronne’s Satchel, and Ryslatha’s Coil.
  • Passive Tree Tech: Utilizing life flask nodes to achieve perpetual Guard, infinite Rage, and 1.5x life pool overflows.
  • Energy Shield Solutions: Using Shavronne’s Satchel to convert constant life flask recovery into energy shield maintenance.

The Core Mechanic: Reverie (Rebranded Husk of Dreams)

Reverie is a unique body armor with a transformative interaction for life flasks. Key statistics and mechanics include:

  • Constant Effects: Non-unique life flasks apply their effects constantly.
  • Flask Restriction: You cannot manually use life flasks, as they are perpetually active.
  • Recovery Changes: Recovery from life flasks cannot be instant, and the item provides 48% less life flask recovery.
  • Negatives: -10% Fire Resistance (negligible).
  • Customization: Unlike unique weapons, this body armor can be runegrafted with stats like Ward, though it cannot be fully “upgraded” in the same way.
  • Comparison: Similar mechanical potential exists with the Hollow-Hume (Hollow Mask), particularly regarding Chayula Monk builds and Remnants.

Unique Item Synergies and Interactions

The constant application of life flasks enables several powerful interactions with existing unique belts and items:

  • Umbilicus Immortalis: This belt applies life flasks to minions. While Reverie states flask recovery cannot apply to anything other than the player, if this interaction works, it would grant minions permanent life flask effects, potentially making them immortal.
  • Nashin Sash: Life recovery from flasks can overflow maximum life up to 1.5 times the maximum pool. In combination with Reverie, you could perpetually sit at 150% of your maximum life, provided you mitigate the belt’s “lose 5% of maximum life per second” downside.
  • Cowl’s Legacy: Provides up to 40% increased life and mana recovery from flasks and changes the “Low Life” threshold to 75%. This allows for easier sustain of low-life-dependent buffs while benefiting from constant recovery.
  • Shavronne’s Satchel: This allows life recovery from flasks to apply to Energy Shield. With Reverie, this creates a perpetual “arc generator” that constantly repairs Energy Shield until recharge kicks in. This is especially useful for Warrior builds to keep ES topped up.
  • Wyrmsgate Heavy Belt: Increases life flask recovery rate and allows life/mana flasks to be equipped in either socket, making the Reverie setup more flexible.
  • Ryslatha’s Coil: The increased flask life recovery rate on this belt serves as a direct offset to the 48% less recovery penalty on Reverie.

Passive Tree Tech Loops

The current skill tree contains several nodes that become “always-on” buffs when paired with Reverie:

  • Tukohama’s Brew: Converts 50% of skill mana cost to life cost during any life flask effect. With Reverie, this is permanent, allowing high-mana skills to be sustained without Blood Magic.
  • Desperate Times & Coward’s Trial: Combining these creates a life regeneration loop. If the flask is constantly active and the player is considered on “Low Life” via Coward’s Trial, you gain 1.5% max life regen and 40% increased recovery perpetually.
  • Heavy Drinker: Life flasks grant Guard equal to 8% of life recovery per second. With Reverie, this could potentially lead to permanent Guard uptime.
  • Blood of Rage: Grants 8 Rage when you use a life flask. If the flask is perpetually active, it may allow for constant Rage generation or prevent Rage from ever decaying.
  • Efficient Alchemy: Provides increased life and mana recovery while a charm is active. This synergizes with Mageblood to keep all recovery buffs active at all times.
  • Reinvigorate & Hard to Kill: These nodes provide flat percentage life regeneration (1% and 0.75% respectively) and increased recovery rates that further bolster the constant flask effect.
  • Nurturing Guardian: This node applies flask recovery to companions. If Reverie’s “only applies to you” modifier does not overrule this, it would provide massive permanent sustain for companions.
