Introduction to the Acceleration Cyclone Slayer

Cyclone has historically struggled with juggling movement speed, AoE, and damage. This build is a culmination of several buffs in the 3.28 melee patch. The build relies on an “aspirational” setup that requires specific interactions to function effectively.

The most critical interaction is the Acceleration Shrine. By using The Gull and Blunderbore, we scale shrine effect. An Acceleration Shrine provides Action Speed, which acts as a multiplier to movement speed that circumvents the “fixed” movement speed limitation of The Stampede boots. This allows the build to reach over 300% movement speed while ignoring Cyclone’s inherent movement penalties.

Mechanics: Cyclone of Tumult

Cyclone of Tumult is significantly stronger than the standard version, offering roughly 40-50% more damage and increased AoE.

  • Stages: It gains up to 5 stages, providing +0.1 meters to base radius per stage.
  • AoE Scaling: The gem converts 15% increased Area of Effect per 0.1 meter of additional melee strike range. This makes melee strike range nodes on the passive tree and gear (like elevated Warlord/Elder gloves) the primary source of screen-wide AoE.
  • Movement: The “less movement speed” downside is completely negated by The Stampede, which fixes your base movement speed.

Weapon Choice: Voidforge & Physical Scaling

The build uses a Voidforge corrupted with the Volatile Vaal Orb to reach upwards of 900% physical damage as extra elemental damage.

  • Flat Damage: Because the sword has low base damage but a massive multiplier, we stack flat physical damage from other sources.
  • Bloodthirst Support: This provides flat physical damage equal to 2% of your maximum life. With ~9,000 HP, this adds roughly 180 flat physical damage, which is then multiplied by the sword’s 900% modifier.
  • Elemental Damage: Voidforge deals one random element per hit. This is ideal for Secrets of Suffering, allowing for massive Brittle (up to +6% base crit), Scorched (-30% elemental resistance), and Sapped (20% less enemy damage) stacks.

Tinctures and Mana Management

Tinctures are essential for damage, providing massive elemental penetration and potential “Triple Damage” modifiers.

  • Maintenance: Use Runegraph of the Imbued for increased tincture effect.
  • Mana Burn: To sustain the mana burn, the build uses mana leech (e.g., Fuel the Fight) and a jewel with “mana gained on hit with attacks.”
  • Cost: Aim for zero mana cost on Cyclone using Manifold Rings with “minus channeling skill cost” to allow for no-regen map running.

Ascendancy: Slayer

Slayer is the preferred choice for maximum AoE and damage consistency.

  1. Impact: Provides 50% increased AoE and additional melee strike range (which converts to even more AoE).
  2. Bane of Legends & Headsman: Provides the 20% cull and generic damage buffs.
  3. Masterful Form (Alternative): Used if you want to scale Frenzy/Endurance charges.
  • Note: Chieftain is a tankier alternative using Valako’s and Tasalio’s, but it results in significantly lower damage and AoE.

Gear Breakdown

  • Weapon: Voidforge (High phys-as-extra roll).
  • Boots: The Stampede (Anoint: Infused Flesh for recoup).
  • Body Armor & Helmet: Blunderbore and The Gull for Shrine Effect. Aim for even-number total percentages (e.g., 182%) to hit Action Speed breakpoints.
  • Amulet: Defiance of Destiny (Anoint: Tenacity).
  • Gloves: Elevated Warlord/Elder gloves with +0.8m melee strike range.
  • Rings: Manifold Rings crafted with flat physical damage and minus mana cost.
  • Flasks: Utility flasks are unusable due to Screams of the Desecrated (or similar unique constraints). Use an instant Life Flask, Doedre’s Elixir for charges, and The Writhing Jar to trigger “on kill” buffs during bosses.

Jewels and Passive Tree

  • The Interrogation: Enables Secrets of Suffering.
  • Elegant Hubris (Caspiro): Grants Supreme Ostentation, allowing you to ignore attribute requirements for Blunderbore.
  • Rational Doctrine: Balance Strength and Intelligence to gain both Consecrated and Profane ground.
