PoE Sanity

20 LOCKS AND A DREAM

Summary

  • Attempting to hit high-tier corruption implicits on a Headhunter belt using 20 Hinekora’s Locks.
  • Prioritizing modifiers such as Movement Speed and Area of Effect (AoE) for a specific build.
  • Evaluating the utility of various outcomes like Maximum Energy Shield and Percent Attributes.
  • Successfully hitting an Area of Effect implicit and calculating its impact on build breakpoints.

Item Preparation and Goals

I have 20 Hinekora’s Locks ready to use on a Headhunter. Before starting, I need to use Divine Orbs to optimize the base stats. The current roll is 56 Life and maximum Dexterity. While the Life is one point off from perfect, the Dexterity is at the maximum value, which is sufficient.

My primary targets for the corruption implicits are:

  1. Movement Speed: The most ideal stat for this build.
  2. Area of Effect (AoE): A top-tier utility stat.
  3. Critical Strike Multiplier: A strong secondary option.
  4. Rarity or All Resistance: Acceptable but not primary goals.

Note: Hinekora’s Locks cannot be used to preview outcomes from the Locus of Corruption (double corruption) in the Temple of Atzoatl.

The Crafting Process

  • Lock 1: No implicit generated.
  • Lock 2: Maximum Energy Shield (ES). While this isn’t a bad corruption in other metas, it is currently useless because Pantheon shrines already provide 190% maximum ES.
  • Lock 3–6: Low-tier rolls including increased Strength and Intelligence at the lowest possible values.
  • Lock 7: Malevolence aura. This is considered worthless for the current build.

At this stage, approximately 7 out of 23 potential outcomes have been checked, and the luck has been poor. Most attempts have resulted in no implicit or undesirable modifiers.

Final Result and Breakpoints

On a subsequent lock, I hit 8% increased Area of Effect. Although this is the lowest possible roll for that specific implicit, it is still a highly desirable stat.

Upon checking the build’s requirements, I realized that if I mirror two more cluster jewels, this 8% AoE hit reaches a specific breakpoint. Because it fulfills a mechanical requirement for the build, this is not considered a “settle” but a successful result.
